My neighbor down the street has a rather well fed chocolate lab who once thought my yard was THE yard. After spraying him well with the hose some years back he's left my yard alone.

Caught a dogwalker letting his sheepskin leather vest wearing yap dog use my newly planted bushes as urinal. There is 50 miles of open desert 50 yards away and he's gotta let his dog use my yard! He got the glare of death.

However I have great news and glorious tidings for you.

Moth balls. Yep, good ole moth balls.

Scatter them about and your canine friend will find your flower beds distasteful.

I started doing this because idiot neighbors would fail to cleanup from their dogs pooping in front of my house. If the dogs don't like the smell, they move on and pooped elsewhere.
